So many businesses are charging a credit card surcharge these days. Fees usually average around 3%, which can add up. To avoid spending more, I try to avoid this fee by asking or reading first if a credit card fee will be charged on a transaction. If there is a fee, I pay with cash (make sure to get a receipt!), an old-fashioned check, or see if there is a debit card option that doesn’t charge a surcharge. Saving every way you can helps!
