We visited the Orangeburg Aquatic Park yesterday, but upon our arrival, we found out it had just closed due to mechanical issues. I wasn’t able to go inside the waterpark, but I was able to look around and take a video from outside the gate. The waterpark is medium-sized, which I think is perfect. I believe you can sit and see most areas of the waterpark, though you might still need to move around to keep an eye on your kids in some areas or to be within arm's length of young children.
The Orangeburg Aquatic Park features two big slides, one with an awesome bowl slide with a plunge pool at the end, a lazy river, zero-depth pool, small slides, a kids’ area, a tot area, climbing ropes, and a big bucket that dumps water occasionally. A snack bar is also on site.
There are lounge chairs and small pavilions around the waterpark. I was told that folding chairs and utility wagons are allowed in the waterpark. Umbrellas can be set up but not too close to the water to avoid interfering with the lifeguards' view. All kids 47 inches and below are required to wear a life jacket. Life jackets are provided for free. You may bring your own from home, but it must be approved for use upon entering the park.
Current pricing is $5 for children under 47 inches tall and $10 for individuals 48 inches and taller. Columbia and Santee YMCA members receive free admission. The current hours are Thursday and Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm. It is recommended to call ahead to confirm before visiting.
